The study deals with the reality of the electoral process in Algeria and the most important challenges facing it.

elections constitute the backbone of the modern democratic political system, as a tool that enables the governed to choose their rulers and hold them accountable, and political participation today represents the essence of democratic practice, as it enables the individual to play a key role in the political process.

and Algeria, in its democratic experience, has known a number of forms and patterns in the process of political participation since the adoption of political pluralism, and the crisis of political participation posed a challenge in building the new Algeria, which explains its link to economic and social factors to a large extent.
