Abstract EN

The aim of the current study is to use the Generalized Partial Credit Model (GPCM) in constructing a scale of students’ attitudes toward changing their answers to multiple-choice questions.

To achieve the goal of the study, the researcher constructed a scale of 18 items, and applied it to a sample (n=634) of University of Jeddah students, enrolled in the first semester of the academic year (2019-2020).

The researcher assessed the scale unidimensionality, and the items fitting to GPCM, also items parameters were estimated according to this model.

The final form of the scale consisted of 15 items.

Results showed that the scale has good psychometric properties, and that University of Jeddah students’ attitude toward changing their answer to multiple-choice questions was low, and that there are many reasons for students’ reluctance to change their answers to these questions.
