Abstract EN

The problem of the research revolves around the efforts made by the Clerics of the Al-Hawza in Najaf, and it also aims to investigate this role.

The research tried to find an answer to the following questions: What is the nature of the confrontation led by the religious establishment against the British occupation of Iraq? What are the reasons that made the British administration insist on considering the senior Clerics of the seminary to be of Persian origin? And the extent of the influence of the religious establishment in thwarting British projects in Iraq? The research is divided into an introduction, two chapters and a conclusion, the first one has dealt with a brief presentation of the factors and causes of the revolution of the twentieth from the British point of view, according to what was stated in the British documents, while the second part came to explain the leadership role of the men of the estate in preparing for the revolution, and the conclusion included the conclusions reached by the research.
