Abstract EN

The study aims to identifying : 1.

generativity among the professors of Al-Qadisiyah University.

2.

anxiety about aging among professors at Al-Qadisiyah University.

3.

the correlation between generativity and anxiety about aging among professors at Al-Qadisiyah University.

to achieve the aims above, the researcher does the following : 1.

preparing the generativity scale according to the theoretical model of (mc adams & aubin, 1992 mc), which its final form consists of 39 items, including seven aspects / dimensions of generativity according to the approved theoretical model : inner desire culture demand concerns for the next generation, belief in the human species commitment, actions and narrative.

2.

adopting anxiety about aging scale of (lasher & faulkender ,1993), which consists, in its final form, of 16 items, including four dimensions according to the theoretical model of lasher and faulkender 1993, which are : fear of old people, psychological concerns.

physical appearance and fear of loss.

after verifying the availability of the two scales on the psychometric conditions required in psychological measures of facial validity, construct validity and the reliability by means of split-half and Alpha Cronbach, these two scales are applied through electronic search form on a sample of (290) professors from the University of Qadisiyah and of both genders, (186) males and (104) females, randomly selected from the research community.

the data obtained from the research sample were subjected to statistical analysis by using the appropriate tools and functions in the spss statistical package of social sciences.

thus, the research reaches the following results : 1.

the generativity of Al-Qadisiyah University professors is increased.

2.

a high degree of anxiety about aging among professors at Al-Qadissiyah University.

3.

There is no relationship between generativity and anxiety about aging among professors at Al-Qadisiyah University.

the results of the research were interpreted according to the theories adopted and some previous studies that dealt with the research variables.
