Abstract EN

This study examined the approach of polyphony in the poem Al-Youmiyyaat of modern Arabic poetry.

It explored this stylistic technique, how it contributed to the structuring of the poem and giving it a narrative touch of the contrasting of intellectual starting points and background of sounds.

This technique indicated that it is an element of AlYoumiyyaat poem of the modern Arabic poetry.

This study comprised an introduction which dealt with the topic and its queries; the first part was dedicated to the conceptual framework, while the second was dedicated to the phenomenon of polyphony in the aforementioned poem.

The study’s results revolve around the modernization of poetic discourse and aspiring of the aesthetic outlook from the narrative art of the poem (AlYoumiyyaat) in composing daily poems.

The study concluded that polyphony is a stylistic technique which contributed to the structuring of the poem through its approach of the contrasting starting points.
