The branded research (causes of children's addiction to the internet) addresses a very important topic in influencing the daily life of the family in iraqi society, to identify the social causes affecting children's addiction to modern technology and identify the dangers of smart devices and the most important social networking sites circulating among them, using the analytical method to reach facts and conclusions, including : -internet addiction is a compulsive behavior that results from the increased use of internet services or the need to satisfy desires for materials available on the internet.

*-an internet addict is someone who spends about 35 hours a week browsing the internet outside of work hours.

t-the researcher concluded that excessive use of the internet has many negative effects in increasing family conflicts.

the researcher concluded that one of the causes of addiction to the internet is the - achievement (ideal self )where a person can draw for himself the image he wishes on social networking sites that he could not achieve on the ground (realistic self).
