This research aims at elucidating the structure of the trilateral root verbs plus one letter in the poetry of Adonis, a modernist poet.

The extra letter provides several meanings such as increasing, exaggeration, compliance and participation.

The study covers his poetry collection Mihyar of Damascus: His Songs for its significance as a prominent and influential corpus in Arabic poetry.

The structures are numerated in tables, where the researcher explains each structure in the light of the ancient and modern linguistic studies.
