The availability of butane gas is a basic requirement of the population; As an important source of energy, it has multiple uses, whether for domestic, commercial and industrial purposes.

The current study aims to reveal the general pattern of the geographical distribution of butane warehouses in Luxor Governorate, using the help of some spatial analysis tools in GIS technology), in addition to highlighting the spatial and temporal differences in butane consumption, and monitoring the problems that Confronting the butane distribution and consumption system in the governorate, and developing future scenarios for it.

The study concluded that butane warehouses in the governorate adopt a scattered pattern in their geographical distribution, and the household sector dominates 93% of the volume of butane consumption, and the distribution and consumption of butane in the governorate faces several problems such as: a number of warehouses are located within residential blocks, and some villages are deprived of warehouse services, The majority of these warehouses are owned by the people, in addition to the low weight of filled cylinders, the difference in selling prices between winter and summer, and the crowding on the part of consumers over warehouses.

The study made a number of recommendations, including tightening supply control over butane warehouses in the governorate, establishing an electronic system to follow up on the complaints and suggestions of butane consumers, increasing the prescribed monthly quotas of cylinders for warehouses in the winter season, in addition to accelerating the pace of delivery of natural gas services to homes not connected to the governorate.
