The rapid warning network is a central body of the Ministry of Commerce in charge of consumer protection that follows up products that pose a threat to consumer health as an embodiment of the principle of caution, and if the risk is realized, the competent authorities will be informed immediately, established by the Algerian legislature under Executive Decree 12-203 on the rules applicable to product security, and is made up of representatives of 14 ministries headed by the Minister of Commerce.

The Rapid Warning Network plays an information altogether on health risks, as it is a link between bodies at the national level such as the Ministry of Commerce and its external interests, consumer protection associations, professional associations and employers' associations, on the one hand, and on the other hand, on the international level such as pluse net international network, the International Network of Food Authorities, the Codex Constitution Authority and the Arab Federation for the Protection of Consumers, which makes it truly an effective tool for protecting the health and security of consumers, especially in the context of the so-called dangers of scientific development.
