Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to identify the attitudes of the school students towards the authentic assessment in the Jordanian schools, A random sample was chosen.

It consisted of (205) students from the ninth and first secondary grades of the governorate of Irbid.

To achieve the objectives of the study, an attitude scale was used to identify the attitudes of the school students towards the authentic assessment.

It consisted of (23) items divided into two parts.

The first part is to measure the attitudes of the school students toward the authentic assessment strategies (17 items).

The second part is to measure the attitudes of the school students towards the authentic assessment tools(8) items.

The study found that the averages of the students' attitudes towards authentic assessment strategies was (3.8 from 5) and the standard deviation (0.78), and (3.42) towards tools and with a standard deviation (0.87).Also, the results showed that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the sample estimates of the attitudes of the school students towards the realistic evaluation strategies due to the variable of the grade, in favor of the ninth grade.

and no statistically significant differences between the average of the attitudes of the school students towards the authentic assessment tools due to the gender variables and the grade.
