Social media or social networking sites, which still used widely by all the segments of society, is considered as the most difficult topic because of the many opinions and arguments that concerns its benefits and its risks.

Even though there are many dissatisfied and pessimistic about the use of these sites, but by the other hand we cannot ignore some of its advantages that have opened the way of being connected and communicated with others in the whole world easily, quickly and it costs less in this case we are obliged to give much of time for this in order to clarify this point, that's why we conducted a study to find out the impact of using this social media sites on the social interaction among university students.

The descriptive approach was relied on as an appropriate for such studies, while the representative of the studied community consisted of 182 students selected neatly and intentionally.

Then we relied on the social media scale and the social interaction scale in order to clarify this point more and to collect data as well, which were designed to be the fruitful side of this research that finally showed the real impact of social media on social interaction of the university students.

Additionally it reached also to a result that there are no differences between the genders in the use of social media.
