Abstract EN

There is no doubt that the ultimate goal of any fair piece of legislation is to serve the interest of the people in conformity with proper and true principles, and that the most direct means of determining principles and objectives consists in linking them to one another.

In so doing, justice will prevail and all will be treated justly.

The judiciary is the competent authority in this respect, without which no human system can exist; as Allah Almighty commands "when you judge between people, you judge with justice,” because justice is the basis of governance.

The purpose of establishing laws is to administer justice, resolve disputes, and prevent injustice.

In its pursuit of truth, the human mind, despite its nobility and sublimity, continues to be in need of guidance whereby its flaws and imbalances may be redressed.

Islamic Law has been the source of such guidance, to which justice seekers resort to protect themselves against the temptations of selfish desires, and to dispel the darkness of ignorance, leaving no place for confusion or uncertainty.

This paper aims at highlighting the role of Shari'a, the Law of Islam, in shaping man's character in terms of fairness, honesty, and integrity.
