Abstract EN

This study aimed at identifying the theoretical explanation of riots' incidents that took place in some Jordanian correction and rehabilitation centers during the years of 2007 and 2008.

In order to do that, two sources of information were employed: Human Rights Reports in these two tears and the Police Department Report.

Some theories were displayed to explain riots: these include theories of conflict, power vacuum, deprivation time bomb, state-centered, balance and administrative control.

The study results revealed that Human Rights groups believed in the deprivation theory to explain riots' incidents, while the General Security Department believed that the riots incidents happened as a result of classification and isolation processes.

finally, the study presented some strategies to prevent riots in the future.
