Abstract EN

This research discussed licensing of audio and visual media and prior censorship on their contents on both the national and international levels.

An introduction was set to explain the importance and questions raised by the study.

Then it was divided to three chapters.

The first chapter examined freedom of expression in the international conventions Jordan had ratified and the Jordanian constitution since it is considered the comer stone of any media entity.

The second chapter explained licensing of Audio and Visual media in international conventions and Jordanian legislation.

The third chapter also explained the concept of prior censorship on the contents of audio and visual media in international and national levels.

Finally, the results of the research and recommendations adopted were illustrated.
