حساسية بعض أصناف الزيتون للإصابة بقشرية الزيتون السوداء : على الزيتون في القنيطرة - سورية Saissetia oleae B. (Coccidae : Homoptera)‎

Abstract EN

This research was conducted to study the susceptibility of some olive cultivars to black scale insect Saissetia oleae (Bern) on olive trees during the growing seasons 2008-2009 at the Agricultural Research Center of Qunaeitra –Syria.

The cultivars tested were: Mawe, Estanboly, Kaissy, Frantoi and Sorani.

The results showed that the maximum significant population density of insect occurred on cultivar Mawe (108.8 insect/plant part) compared with the other cultivars (Estanboly, Frantoi, Kaissy, Sorani) the averages of which averages (76.85, 69.46, 66.42,35.05), respectively, and the cultivars Estanboly , Frantoi and Kaissy showed maximum significance with cultivar (Sorani).

The results of studying the effect of cultivar on spread and distribution of S.

oleae on different parts of the plant showed different distributions of the population density of the insect on the plant parts in the different cultivars, but in general Mawe cultivar showed maximum significance with the resistant cultivar (Sorani) on different parts, while the differences were not significant between the sensitive cultivar Mawe and the moderately resistant cultivars (Estanboly, Kaissy, Frantoi).

oleae on cultivars showed no clear differences between cultivars in young females' stage and nymphs, but the differences were highly significance in mature females, and the cultivar Mawe (97.81mature female/plant part) showed high significance with the other cultivars, and cultivars (Estanboly, Kaissy, Frantoi) showed high significance with (Sorani) with averages of 66.58, 57.58, 61.27 and 31.37, respectively.
