Abstract EN

This study is aimed at determining the barriers that prevent Arab junior swimmers from reaching high levels in swimming.

It is also aimed at identifying the differences amongst these barriers according to state, gender, swimming style, and swimming distance.

A questionnaire that contains 70 items represented in six dimensions (technical, facilities, psychological, administrative, social, and financial) was designed to achieve the aims of this study.

The sample size of this study was 96 male and female swimmers that represent the Arab states that participated in the Seventh Arabic Championship.

The results of this study indicated that financial barriers were the most important barriers that prevented the novice swimmers from reaching the highest levels.

It was also recommended that by increasing the financial support and holding international training courses to improve the abilities of coaches will help the Arab novice swimmers in reaching the highest levels.
