Abstract EN

This study concentrated on the topic of information centers at national news agencies to learn about and define the role, operations, services, and technologies used in those centers.

It reached this goal through a theoretical and applied study.

The research used the Case Study approach to study the status of the information center at the Saudi Press Agency (WAS), and used a focus group to come up with agreed comprehensive view to define the information center at a national news agency and its role.

It was found that the information specialists and professionals, and those working or interested in news information centers saw this information center as a very important center and should be linked to the higher position in the agency and supported financially, technologically, and with human resources.

It serves different groups but should not play the role of national journalist information center.
