English Abstract

According to the enormous development which occurred in the field of computer networks and plenty of users whom are increasing day after day, and the large expansion in the electronic devices during the last years, and using developed techniques in all fields of life, and part of it exchanging information.

Dealing with this information is done by recent methods, which requires in opposite finding new methods to preserve it and reduce the possibility of intruding upon it.

One of these methods is using encryption as a means to protect these data.

This research presents a complete study of the data encryption standard (DES).

A study was done for all the procedures concerning the encryption process and the possibility of distributing the sub keys for this system, and also explaining the modes of the (DES).

Afterwards, there was a study of the possibility of developing this system for it suffers from some weak points.

Some of these points were analyzed in order to develop this system, through : 1- Deleting the initial and final permutation and consequently increasing the speed of the system.

2- Complete changes for the process of generating the sub keys, and make it a controlled process not a standard process.

3- Solving the problem of distributing the primary keys and using one of the systems from another kind, which is called asymmetric system or the public keys.

Whereas a selection was done for the famous kind of this system which is called RSA, which was studied completely and get acquainted to it.

Finally, a complete encryption system was established, which uses each of the public keys system and the private keys system to be a hybrid system.
