تناول البحث دراسة مظهرية و تشريحية لنبات الداماس (و هو الاسم الشائع في البلدان العربية) الذي أدخل حديثا إلى العراق للتعرف على صفاته و مميزاته المختلفة، و قد أوضحت الدراسة أن الاوراق كانت بسيطة و معنقة و ريشية التعرق، العرق الوسطي بارز على الجهتين العليا و السفلى للورقة و الغطاء السطحي كان عبارة عن شعيرات لاغدية بسيطة و شعيرات غدية عديدة الخلايا.
النورة رأسية مكتضة خضراء مصفرة.
أما حبوب اللقاح فكانت صغيرة الحجم ملساء ثلاثية الأخاديد و الثقوب Tricolporate.
و أظهر تشريح الأوراق و السويقات و السيقان وجود التانين بكميات كبيرة في الخلايا بالإضافة إلى بلورات نجمية غزيرة و بلورات إبرية.
و ظهر النسيج المتوسط في الورقة متشابه الوجهين و احتوى على نسيج خازن للماء.
تضمن النسيج الناقل في السويق حزمة وعائية مركزية زورقية الشكل و حزمتين جانبيتين صغيرتين، و كانت الساق اسطوانية ذات قشرة ضيقة و اسطوانة وعائية ذات جانبين.
ظهرت تراكيب إفرازية لا شعيرية على السطح السفلي للورقة إضافة إلى غدد رحيقية عديدة على جانبي السويق و حواف الأوراق.
Abstract EN
Morphological and anatomical study was carried out on Conocarpus lancifolius to show its charectars and properties .
Leaves were simple , peteoled , primary vein arises up and downward the leaf .
Epidermis covered with non- glandular simple hairs and glandular multicellular hairs .
Heads were crowded , green – yellow coloured .Pollen was small , psilate and tricolporate .
Leaf , petiole and stem cells were highly tanniniferous with numerous druses .
Mesophyll was isobilateral having water storage tissue .Peteole contain one central boat – shaped vascular bundle with tow lateral traces .
In stem vascular bundle or cylindrical was bicollateral .
Non – hairy excreting structures exist at the lower surface of the leaf as well as several nectaries at the distal part of peteole and leaf margins.
