Abstract AR
Abstract EN
The purpose of this study is to identify the effect of gender, age and construction of family on children's drawings of their families.
The sample of this study consisted of 86 children of male and female schools in Al-Baqaa camp in Albalqa municipality 50 children live in normal families and 36 children live in families disrupted by divorce or death of one parent or both.
Members of this study were selected systematically from these schools.
The tool of the study was "family drawing" using some of the vocabulary such as: the omission, inclusion, size, and the location of the child in the drawing.
To answer the questions of this study, the researcher used the arithmetic averages and the multiple analyses of variance (MANOVA).
The results of this study revealed that some children especially females have negative attitudes toward their families.
There is a statistically significant effect at the level (α=0.05) which is attributed to the gender variable on the inclusion characteristic and the location of the child characteristic (self concept).
But there is no statistically significant rule of omission and size characteristics due to gender variable.
The results also revealed that there is no statistically significance rule of age variable except on the size characteristic at level (α=0.05).
The results also indicated that there is a statistical significance at level (α=0.05) due to family structure variable on all characteristics including omission, inclusion, size and location of the child.
