Abstract EN

This study examines the nature of Malaysia's foreign policy towards the organization of the Association of South East Asia, "ASEAN,"during the period from 2000-2011 especially in terms of the assumption that Malaysia plays a leading and influential role in this organization since its inception.

The study is divided into three parts that clarify the effect of these areas in the shape of the Malaysian external policy.

In discussing the status of "ASEAN" in the Malaysian foreign policy, through research in the role of determinants and objectives of foreign policy and implementation tools, Malaysia also plays a pivotal role in the formulation of general orientations of the Association of "ASEAN".

At the same time it represented the ASEAN framework on which the President of Malaysia in shaping its regional role.
