Abstract EN

The study aims at recognizing the psychological and physical changes associated with the menopausal period and its relation with quality of life among a sample of Palestinian women.

The study sample consisted of (243) Palestinian women with an average age of (51) years in the governorates of both Khanyounis and Rafah.

The study results revealed that there was a statistically negative relationship at 0.01 between the domains of the physical psychological changes scale and quality of life among the Palestinian women in the menopausal period.

Moreover, the results showed that the commonest items in the physical changes scale were: first, "I suffer from Arthritis, muscles and rheumatism diseases" with %65.5, then it was followed by the item" I suffer from pains in the back" with % 64.5, and finally the item "I suffer from Osteoporosis" with 62%.

On the other hand, the commonest items in psychological changes scale were: "I feel tired and exhausted" with 75.3, "I suffer from nervousness" with 70.3%, and "I suffer from worries and anxiety" with 65.5 %.

The findings of the study also showed that there were no statistically significant differences between the domains of physical and psychological changes and the total degree due to age variable, whereas there were statistically significant differences in the domains of the quality of life scale: psychological, social, sexual life, and the general domain of quality of life and the total degree in favor of those who were above 51 years.

Additionally, there were no statistically significant differences in the physical domain.
