أثر استخدام نموذج روثكوف في تدريس المفاهيم الجغرافية لطلبة الصف العاشر و مدى احتفاظهم بهذه المفاهيم في الأردن

Abstract EN

The main aim of the study is to investigate the impact of Rothokopf's instructional model on conceptual change to some geography concepts for 10th grade students and their retention of it.

The subjects of study consisted of (70) 10th graders from two classes in Jordan -karak.

(Boys school in karak province /2010.

One of the classes was randomly assigned to an experimental group (34) students, and was taught wind and atmospheric pursue unit by using Rothokopf model.

Another class was randomly assigned to control group (36) students which was taught the same unit with traditional way.

A test of geography concepts was developed as pre and post test and also retention test after one month from the post test.

Findings indicate that Rothokopf instructional model was significantly effective in conceptual change and retention of geography concepts as compared to traditional method.

Based upon the findings, the study concludes by offering a number of recommendations.
