Abstract EN

This study aimed to find out the main causes of cultural alienation, and its demonstration among student at Yarmouk University, and the link between the variables of sex, place of residence, major, academic level, and cultural alienation among Youth University.

The study used the methodology of the sample surveys, the study was conducted on a stratified deliberated sample composed of 440 students from the University of Yarmouk.

The study found that university students suffer from some aspects of alienation expressed by indifference, meaninglessness, disability, and loss of control, and a sense of not being able to change and influence the course of events.

There aspects go back to external factors related to cultural influences of globalization, the consequences of the communications and information technology, internally associated with poor interest in youth, and the provision of social and cultural integration in the middle of complex global variables crisis.

Study concluded that there was no relationship among gender, educational attainment, place of residence, and cultural alienation among young people, while there was relationship between academic major and cultural alienation, for the benefit of students of humanity.
