Abstract EN

The Study aimed to identify the females’ crimes committed by delinquent adolescents who are kept in the Rehabilitation and Education and Welfare of Girls Center in Jordan.

The study attempted to identify the causes of the delinquent girls as well as the social and economic characteristic of the delinquent girls.

The research-worker was used comprehensive social survey method, which included all (51) inmate girls held in the Rehabilitation and Education and Welfare of Girls Centers of the Ministry of Social Development.

All girls were convicted and sentenced.

The Study reached the following results: Age group (16-18) occupied the first rank in the number of delinquent females.

The basic level was the highest educational level of the delinquent girls.

Theft, mistrust, harm, drugs, murder, kidnapping, and various behavioral cases were the most frequent offences and crimes committed by these girls.

The study concluded that illiteracy, wrongful socialization, family disrupts, poverty, unemployment, peers are the main causes of the delinquent girls in Jordan.
