The aim of this study was to draw the attention to the families with mild intellectual disabled children, having experience and positive perceptions of disability.

The study also aimed at determining the relationships among those experiences, positive perceptions of disability, family stress and coping strategies.

The study revealed that there are statistically significant differences in family stress amongst families with mild intellectual disabled children with and without experience and positive perceptions of disability.
