Abstract EN

The purpose of this study is to identify Jordanian public attitudes towards various aspects of political development, including the concept itself, the objectives of political development, and the methods of achieving political development in Jordan.

This is done through monitoring and analyzing a set of indicators on the extent of knowledge, perception, and awareness among respondents to the survey in terms of the political changes taking place in their country.

This is also achieved through development of their political awareness and enabling them to participate effectively in the process of change of reform desired.

This study also seeks to ascertain the influence of a set of variables (such as sex, age, monthly income, education level) on the respondents’ answers.

The study relies on survey methodology: data was collected through a questionnaire that was completed by 481 randomly sampled individuals.

The Jordanian society, in all its variations, forms the study population.

The study’s most important findings are that the majority of respondents reject the statements: “participation in political life is a waste of time and effort” and “political development is enhanced by the elimination of favouritism and nepotism.” This indicates some aspects of the respondents’ attitudes towards achieving political development in Jordan.
