Abstract EN

This study aimed at investigating the burnout level among Kerak Public high-school teachers and its relationship to their perception of principal leadership behavior.

The study sample consisted of 305 teachers and were randomly selected.

Two scales were used for the purpose of data collection: the leader behavior description questionnaire (LBDQ), and Maslach burnout inventory (MBI).

The results of the study showed a high degree of burnout on emotional exhaustion and a moderate degree of burnout on depersonalization, and lack of personal accomplishment.

Also, there were significant differences of the degree of burnout among teachers according to the teacher gender; which indicated that the highest degrees were amongst male teachers.

In addition, there were significant differences on the degree of burnout among teachers according to consideration levels.

The results revealed that the highest degrees of burnout were related to low level of consideration.

On the other hand, there were no significant differences of the degree of burnout among teachers according to the levels of initiating structure
