Abstract EN

The present study was designed to assess the relationship of Eysenck personality Dimensions (Extraversion VS Introversion and Emotional Stability VS Neuroticism) with anxiety trait, loneliness and academic achievement.

The sample of (his study consisted of (139) male and (165) female Jordanian 12th grade students.

Three instruments were used: Eysenck Persoanlity Inventory (E.P.l), Spielberger Anxiety Trait Inventory and the University of Calfornia Los Angeles Loneliness Scale.

The results showed that the emotional stability dimension correlated negatively and significantly with anxiety trait and loneliness, but not with academic achievement, The study atso revealed that the neuroticism dimension correlated positively and significantly with anxiety trait and loneliness, but correlated negatively and significantly with academic achievement.

Extraversion dimension correlated negatively and significantly with Loneliness and with anxiety trait for female students only.

The relationship between extraversion and academic achievement was not significant.

Introversion dimension correlated positively and significantly with Loneliness and with anxiety trait for male students only.

The relationship between introversion and academic achievement was not significant.

Finally, the results showed that male students were higher than female students in emotional stability while female students were higher than male students in neuroticism, anxiety trait and academic achievement.
