يتضمن البحث تطوير طريقة طيفية للتقدير الكمي لمقادير مايكروية من عقار البروميثازين هيدروكلورايد في المحاليل المائية باستخدام المطياف الفوتوميتري.
تعتمد الطريقة على تفاعل الأزدواج التأكسدي بين البروميثازين هيدروكلورايد و كاشف السلفانيلامايد بوجود العامل المؤكسد كلوريد الحديديك في وسط حامضي و عند درجة حرارة 60˚م.
حيث تتكون صبغة خضراء مستقرة و ذائبة في الماء و تعطى أعلى امتصاص عند طول موجي 600 نانووميتر.
و يشير الرسم البياني الخطي للامتصاص مقابل التركيز بأن قانون بير ينطبق ضمن مدى التركيز 25-900 مايكروغرام من العقار في حجم نهائي 25 مل (1-36 جزء بالمليون)، و كانت قيمة الامتصاصية المولارية مساوية إلى 1.74 × 410 لتر.

سم2 و قيمة حساسية ساندل 0.018 مايكروغرام.
سم-2 و الخطأ النسبي (-2.16-0.62 %) و انحراف قياسي نسبي أقل من 0.515 % اعتمادا على مستوى التركيز المراد تحديده.
تمت دراسة الظروف المثلى للتفاعل، و طبقت الطريقة على المستحضرات الصيدلانية الحاوية على البروميثازين هيدروكلورايد.
