In this paper, the author indicates that different views and interpretations which lead to different judgements.

Researchers are in pursuit of the right path to get to know such a method objectively.

However, if subjectivity is the norm, negative consequences will follow.

Thus, the researcher identifies the first fact as "difference of opinion,” and the second as discord.

The author presents the two points of view by clarifying the meaning of the two terms, "difference of opinion" and its association with "ijtihad" and "discord".

The author deals with the subject in three parts; the first part consists of a linguistic distinction between the two terms with reference to Holy Qur’an.

The second deals with the term "difference of interpretation," its origin, cause and consequences, while the third part deals with "discord," its origin, cause and consequences.

In conclusion, the author warns against discord and animosity and differences of opinion are admissible since the ultimate goal is the truth.
