دراسة تحليلية لضغوط العمل لدى العاملين في الشركات العامة الكبرى في جنوب الأردن

Abstract EN

The aim of the present study is to identify the sources of work stress among workers at three of the largest public companies in the south of Jordan, through examining the effect of stress factors on the level of wor-k stress.

Furthermore, it aims at examining the differences between participants with regard to the type of work (administrator and non-administrator) and age group, on the one hand, and their perception of work stress, on the other.

Finally, this paper endeavors to tackle the influence of personal factors, such as, level of education, marital status, and experience, on the general level of work stress.

The sample censisted of two hundred and ninety-eight participants who were randomly chosen from different position levels in the three public corporations.

The study concludes that, first, there is a statistically significant effect of work stress variables on the general level of work stress, and a further, statistical signicicant effect difference between administrators and non-administrators.

Secondly, there is a statitical significant effect difference between age group variables in relation to their perception of work stress.

It showed that younger participants are more vulnerable to work stress.

Thirdly, a statistical significant effect of an experience variable has been found to play a role in the general level of work stress.

Finally, the study has found that there is no statisical significant effect of marital status and education on the general level of work stress.
