اتجاهات المواطنين نحو المرأة في جنوب الأردن : دراسة ميدانية

Abstract EN

The aim of this study is to investigate the citizens' attitudes towards women's work in the southern part of Jordan and to determine if there were significant differences in their attitudes in terms of subject's sex, age and educational level.

The sample of the study consists of (400) male and female subjects from the southern part of Jordan.

The study is based on the normative theory as theoretical framework.

The finding of the study indicate that the "gender intermixing at work site", and norms, customss, and values, household duties among reasons reducing the amount of female participation in the labour market.

The demographic variables play an influential role in citizens' attitudes towards women's work.

The study concludes with some recommendations.
