Abstract EN

The Study amis at studying some examples of oxymoron in the modern Arabic Literature.

By (Oxymoron), I mean a structure consisted of two antonymous words such as : clever stupidity, black snow, and cheerful pessimist.

The study divides this type of metaphore into two divisions: the colored and the uncolored oxymorons.

It goes without saying that this metaphorical type has attracted attention as a stylistic phenomenon that may shed some lights on the poet,s ability to broaden the horizon of significance and renewal, both in languaage and style.

Concentration has been made on the examples in their contexts within the structures of the texts in which they occur,
