Abstract EN

This study explores the possibility of achieving the principle of unity in the design of computeraided Arabic fonts (Titles and headings).

To reach such a goal, the researcher has designed a new font to be used in writing titles and heading with Arabic letters.

The study population includes all forms of Arabic letters, numbers, and symbols that are commonly used for titles and headings.

The study sample includes all Arabic alphabet letters used in different languages such as Arabic, Urdu and Persian.

Diferent concepts were explored with different design techniques in order to look for the best configurations that achieves the required principle of unity in the new font design.

The Final results of the study proved that a well-designed Arabic font for titles and headings can be reached through certain fundamentals that emerged during the process of developing and experimenting with different techniques and styles.

Results in this study indirectly gave a clear indication that proper font programs can make the font design process much easier than the traditional font design techniques.

Especially, operations of early stages such as : copying, repeating and adjusting measurements and proportions.

However, Within the limits of what this study has accomplished, the researcher did not come across another related study that opposes its final results.

This is possibly due to the artistic nature of the subject which gives much space for creativity that helped to bring about positive results.
