The statistical fluctuations and the signature of chaos in the intensities of B(E2) and B(M1) transitions obtained in realistic shell model calculations are studied for all available states of ƒp-shell nuclei with each spin from J = 0 to J= -4.
positive parity, and T = 0.1..
We have chosen a system with mass number .A =60.
i.e.
four nucleons move in the space 0f3,2, Ip3 2 and Ip1 2 orbital with the nucleus 56Ni to be chosen as an inert core.
It is found that the statistical distribution of B(E2)matrix elements are in consistent with porter-Thomas(PT) distribution but the distribution of the B(M1) matrix elements for self conjugate nuclei with T: =0 is different from the PT distribution which is valid only for the easy with T:=1 No dependence on the isobaric quantum number T= has been found for the distributions of the B(E2) transition.
It is also found that the B(M1) distribution have a weak dependence on the transitions nature, i.e.
whether they are of an orbital or a spin nature.
