In the past, Moslems scholars have widely dealt with the “united-in-intimacy” and their share of alms.

This topic has also been dealt with in recent times by some Moslem scholars.

This research aims at clarifying and examining certain questions related to the united-in-intimacy such as: What are its types? Has this type of Zakah been abrogated or retained? What are its various sources? Are non-believers included in this category? Have women been included? How can someone know whether or not he/she is included? Who has the right to decide who is or who is not entitled to this type of Zakah? Has the need for uniting people in intimacy stopped or does it still remain? What role does uniting people in intimacy play? What are its goals?
