Abstract EN

This study aims to assemble what Al-Jawhari reported at his various books titled Sihahas what the public say about or use particular Arabic linguistic term.

After such collection Ielucidated the correct opinion regarding such term so as to know what is meant by the language of the public as perceived by the famous compilers of lexicons or dictionaries.

It is known that he wrote in his book only what he thought correct of the language as emphasized by him in his introduction.

The study reached results that such linguistics terms which are attributed to the public differed greatly from what was considered by Al-Jawharias classical Arabic in numerous phonetic, morphological , structural and semantic aspects.

The issues of the phonetic aspects comprise sound elision, exchange of sound, respiratory suppression of soundless letters, phonetic difference, phonetic, Al-Hamz & its easiness and letter replacement.

However, the morphological aspects are represented in non-regular plural formation, masculinity and femininity, conversion of letter positions, emphatic and non-emphatic cases, relation, cases of "did something and do something", shortness and length of term structure, difference between noun and doer, describing the singular with the plural adjective, non-inversion of terms, exchange between forms, definite and indefinite cases, singular and plural, transitive and intransitive verbs and significance of the extra letter.

The share of word structuresis not adequate as they are focused on two issues namely: nouns with word- adding qualification and non-qualification and definite and indefinite cases in word-adding qualification.

Fourthly comes the semantic aspects that discusses specification of the significance, coined words, synonyms and mixture among forms in significance.

The study is concluded with the result that the percentage of usage by certain portion of the public for a particular tem does not mean that it is wrong ; as most of such usages by the public are considered easiness in pronunciation, expansion in usage, adopting particular usage toward non-Arabic term, expansion or restriction of the significance and etc.
