Abstract EN

This study aims to identify the role of the school in the political upbringing of secondary school students in the State of Kuwait, and to identify whether there are differences in the role of the school in the political upbringing of high school students can be attributed to the variables of gender and grade level.To achieve the objective of the study, a gestionnaire was developed consisting of (44) items on four dimensions of political upbringing as follow: (school administration, teacher, curriculum, and school activities).

This gestionnaire was distributed to a random sample of (685) secondary school students.

The results of the study indicate that the school’s role in political upbringing was moderate on all dimensions, where the curriculum came first whereas school activities came last.

The study also found statistically significant differences between the mean ranks due to the variable sex on all areas, except for the area of curriculum in favor of males, and there is no statistically significant differences between the mean ranks due to the variable grade level.

In the light of the study results, some recommendations related to the results of the study are cited.
