Abstract EN

This research aims to study a selected number of Arabic words used in the Mishna and explore thier lexical roots.

While the Mishna, a source of Jewish religious literature, is recognized by scholars as being influenced by foreign languages, the effect of Arabic on the Mishna has been ignored.

Therefore, this study aims to add to the scholarly work in the field and desires to prove that the Mishna was influenced by the Arabic language along with many other lan- guages.

This study follows analytical methods such as analyzing words in Arabic dictionaries and other Hebraic sources, like the Torah and the Talmud, because in the comparative study of languages, it is vital that the roots of words in Semitic languages be examined and the words common to them noted.
