Abstract EN

Praise be to Allah, and peace and blessings to the last prophet (peace be upon him).

In order to study religious rulings, tackle narrated sayings of Prophet Muhammad, deduce from them and decide on a preference, an Islamic jurist needs to be aptly knowledgeable in certain basic sciences, one of which is the Science of the Holy Qur'an.

In this research, I list a variety of sciences pertinent to the Qur'anic science.

They are vital to any jurist, and indispensable to any Mujtahid (a qualified scholar).

I have limited my investigation to the sciences that cannot be distinguished as separate fields of study unless we go back to the original Science of Qur'an and its specialized books.

The research includes the following: First section: The jurist’s need to the Science of Qur'anic Readings.

Second section: The jurist’s need to the Science of the Occasions of Revelation.

Third section: The jurist’s need to the Science of Problematic Issues in the Holy Qur'an.

Fourth section: The jurist’s need to the Science of the Virtues of Qur'an.

Fifth section: The jurist’s need to the Science of the Features Specific to the Qur'an.

Sixth section: The jurist’s need to the Science of Explicating the Holy Qur'an.

This is divided into two issues; ١- The Basics of Explication, and ٢- Explication.

Seventh section: The jurist’s need to the Science of Deduction.

This is divided into two branches; ١- Deduction, and ٢- Quotation.

Eighth section: The jurist’s need to the Science of the Abrogating and Abrogated, the General and the Special, the Absolute and the Restricted, the Concise, the Explained and the Understood [verses of the Qur'an].
