Abstract EN

Proportion theory is one of the main theories underlying logic and contemporary mathematics.

Arabs were in fact the pioneers to put forward the principles of this theory.

Most of them, not to say all of them were just commentators of Aristotle’s logic, but their opinions included comments, criticism and renewal that make research in Arabic logic worthwhile.

It is therefore important to reconsider what they presented and to enlighten hidden aspects of their thoughts in order to show clearly the effectiveness of this stage of the history of logic.
