Abstract EN

This contribution aims to illustrate the most important obstacles that prevent the employment of scientific research in the service of development in the Arab world which is still suffering from underdevelopment and needs improvement in various fields.

In this respect the most significant obstacles has been identified; such as the absence of a clear vision of development, absence and lack of goals and strategies of scientific research, weak financial funding, a gap between research bodies and the surrounding environment, weak link of scientific research results to development, lack of scientific production and lack of valorization for scientific research results.

Useful recommendations are presented in the end to overcome these obstacles
