Abstract EN

Waqf (Endowment) means restraining the origin and liquidation of the fruits or benefits.

It played an important role in the lives of Muslims over the course of the ages.

It must be invested due to its economical importance, and because it is a "Fardh Kefaiah (Sufficiency Mandatory- If done by one obligatory person, it will be deemed done by all other obligatory people), through growing its property, whether they were origins or yields, in legally permitted, contemporary forms, that include: partnerships/participations, dealings/trading, agriculture, sales, and money, all of which the research showed comfortable with the Waqf nature, and through very accurate controls.

Finally, the nation was alert to its importance and, accordingly, they held conferences, seminars and to underline its secrets, and to get it back to its important role.

In this connection, it must be revived, its scope ought to be broadened, and sustainable Waqf must be found with a scientific management, actual control and monitoring, and official sponsorship.

There must be also legislations that maintain to Awqaf its entities and development through the utilization of the others' experiences, and activation of the media to introduce their benefits and both religious and materialistic importance.
