Abstract AR
This study is aimed to identify the effectiveness of the administrative leadership of principals in the public schools of the Department of Education in Al Medina Al Munawarah by answering the following questions: - What is the degree of effectiveness of the administrative leadership of principals in the public schools of the Department of Education in Al Medina Al Munawarah? - Are there statistically differences between the levels of effectiveness of the administrative leadership of the principals of public schools in the Department of Education in the Al Medina Al Munawarah due to variables of the study? In order to answer these questions, Morcy's Test of Educational Leadership was applied.
The test contained 50 questions divided into five different areas.
The sample of the study consisted of randomly selected 86 principals including 51 male principal and 35 female principal.
The results of the test indicated that the perceptions of principals, male and female, of public schools in the Department of Education in the Medina Al Munawarah of the degree of effectiveness of administrative leadership at the macro level were moderate.
However, the principals' perceptions of the degree of effectiveness in the various five areas included in the test showed that the area of "understanding of others" ranked first, followed by the area of "objectivity", then "use of authority," and "knowledge of the principles of communication," and finally the area of "flexibility".
The results also indicated that there was no significant differences in the opinion of the principals in the selected sample of the effectiveness of the administrative leadership due to variables such as the length of administrative service, qualifications and field of specialization, while other significant differences were found due to the sex of the principal and the location of the school.
The study also introduced a number of recommendations and proposals including: Raising the effectiveness of leadership of the principals through carefully designed programs including training workshops and rehabilitation to assure the principals gain of the various skills in the areas of understanding of others, work objectively, proper use of authority, knowledge of the principals of communication and flexibility at work.
