Abstract EN

This study aimed to investigate the effect of an educational program in writing on improving writing skills among eighth female students.

A list containing four major composing writing skills (selecting suitable words, constructing sentences and linguistic patterns, constructing a good paragraph, & constructing the subject and weaving it) was prepared.

An evaluating criterion based on the mentioned skills was developed to evaluate the participants’ written works produced by them after applying the composing writing test which was designed for the purpose of this study.

The sample of the study consisted of (68) female students (two sections).

One section was selected randomly to be assigned the suggested educational program, and served as the Experimental group, whereas, the other one was assigned the traditional method of teaching writing and served as the Controlled group.

The results of the statistical analysis showed that there was significant difference in the post-test scores on the composing writing skills of the two groups, for the benefit of the Experimental group that was taught according to the suggested program.

The results of one- way MANOVA revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the means of the two groups on two major composing skills (constructing a good paragraph & constructing the subject and weaving it).
