The commitment of enlightenment is considered as one of the most important commitments, which the surgeon in general, and the plastic surgeon in particular should do.

And, this is considered as an application for the principle of good faith and fair dealing in transactions; even if there is no legal text that imposes such commitment.

Also, the commitment of enlightenment in plastic surgery means that the surgeon has to explains the risks of this surgery, whether they are expected or unexpected, and occur as an exception.

Moreover, it is the commitment of achieving a result, not offering a care.

So, if the surgeon breaches it, he will be considered misdoing and bears a civil liability toward his patient.
