Abstract EN

This study aims to explain the educational Function that Islamic media may perform, and to reveal its present state in contemporary society.

The researcher used the descriptive analytical method and concluded that Islamic media should contribute to the education of young Muslim generation through shaping a human personality capable of informed choice, and the consolidation of Islamic identity in the community to save it from dissolution or deficiency.

However, Islamic media today has strayed away in some of its activities from performing its expected educational Function; for reasons attributed to the media process itself, and to some other external influences.

This situation requires establishing sound Islamic foundation of the media, and reforming its present practices by using sound planning.
