Abstract EN

This study investigated the view points of the traditional and modern grammarians on traction by adjacency (the aspect featured phonologically by the sound [i]- (AL-Jarr by addition).

Some of the grammarians restricted the aspect absolutely and considered it an oddity whereas some approved it with stipulations and restrictions and some approved it without restrictions.

The study included comprehensive investigatory tours in the Holy Quran – its interpretation and parsing which led to the fact that the aspect under study is an instance slightly reflected in the sections of synonymy, adjacent adjectives usage, substitution, and nominal predicates.
