Abstract EN

Foreign direct investment is an important factor in the development of both developed and developing countries alike and an indication at the same time to the economic opening of the countries in the light of the global variables as the direction toward the market mechanism, the adoption of economic reform, the integration into the global economy, the growing role of multinational companies and increasing the financial flows movement among countries.

Iraq today is in need for constructing the infrastructure and reconstructing what were destroyed because of wars in various productive and service enterprises through establishing new systems and mechanisms to encourage the investment activity and remove many of the restrictions and incentives to foreign capital movement, the importance of foreign direct investment centers on being one of the most important sources of external funding of the development process and raising the economic growth rates and resolving the economic and social problems that Iraqi economy suffers from in its various sectors
